Welcome to Brackett Knives
My name is Jamin Brackett I craft handmade knives utilizing the stock removal method. I am a member of the North Carolina Custom Knife Makers Guild. I enjoy starting with an idea on paper and working with it, until I hold the finished product in my hand.
I draw a great deal of inspiration from the knives of the late George Herron, and George Guthrie. I spent countless hours learning from Mr. Guthrie, and am honored to have called him friend. George was one from the "old school", he beleived in giving one hundred percent and doing it the right way.
I craft "using" knives for hunting, camping, fishing and general outdoor use. I occasionally produce a tactical or two. My goal is to make the highest quality knife utilizing material and equipment available to me. As I intend for my knives to be used, I insist on top quality heat treatment by trained professionals. Currently I send all of my blades to Peter's Heat Treating of Meadville, PA. Their Cryogenic treatment process and my requested triple tempering of each blade, produces one tough knife.
